The disruption began after Kalonzo told the gathering that Sifuna was not yet a presidential aspirant, arguing that he had to wait for the party’s National Delegates Conference (NDC) scheduled for November 13.

Wamalwa had earlier referred to Sifuna as a presidential candidate, prompting Kalonzo to clarify the legal position.

His remarks were met with loud boos and protests from sections of the crowd, who began chanting Sifuna’s name as the Wiper leader struggled to continue his address.

Visibly agitated by the interruptions, Kalonzo stopped speaking and questioned whether the audience wanted him to continue.

Sifuna was then forced to intervene, urging his supporters to calm down and allow Kalonzo to finish his address.

Kalonzo eventually left the stage but was later ushered back after Gachagua concluded his address.

He used the opportunity to introduce members of his Wiper team who had accompanied him to the Linda Mwananchi Movement launch.
